Hochtief Construction said on Monday it is to build a 185-metre tower in Frankfurt for developer Vivico for EUR 60 mln. The building, known as Tower 185, will be one of the tallest in Germany. It will be located at the entrance to the Europaviertel, between the trade fair grounds, the central station and the city's banking district.

Work on the shell structure of the 50-storey tower will begin in March 2009 and is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2011. The project as a whole is due to be finished at the end of 2011. It will provide a rental area of 100,000 m2.

Hochtief said that some 60,000 m2 of office space has already been leased to an international audtiing firm, which will use the premises as its new Frankfurt office.
