Operated by Barceló Hotel Group, the resort is the first in HIP’s portfolio to feature the new innovative concept that combines sport, leisure and gastronomy, aiming to become a European benchmark for ‘active tourism.’

Located on El Ancla beach in Costa Teguise (Lanzarote), the four-star hotel has 814 rooms, of which 148 are Royal Level rooms with exclusive services.

The Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort features a wide range of sports facilities, including a high-performance gym, CrossFit training area, Olympic-sized heated swimming pool, a professional cycling centre, and direct beach access for swimming or other water sports such as surfing, windsurfing or kitesurfing.

The 'La Plaza' meeting area has live music, shops and a varied gastronomic offer, consisting of two buffet restaurants with show cooking, two à la carte restaurants (specialising in Asian and Italian cuisine), and a sports bar in addition to the four bars available in the swimming pools and lobby.

The redevelopment of the Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort is part of plans of HIP and Barceló Hotel Group to reposition their hotel assets in the Canary Islands to generate value for destinations.

HIP plans to invest over €600 mln in its existing portfolio of 71 hotels totalling 21,241 rooms across Spain, Greece, Italy and Portugal.

Barceló Hotel Group has over 270 four and five-star city and resort hotels and more than 60,000 rooms in 24 countries.
