US real estate firm Hines has appointed Vanessa Gelado as the new head of its Spanish operations.
As senior managing director, Gelado will be responsible for the company's activity in Spain including deal execution and management for acquisitions, new developments, dispositions and fee services.
She arrives at Hines from the position of investment director at outlets specialist Neinver, and is also a professor at Madrid’s IE School of Architecture and Design.
Taking up the position this month, Gelado said: ‘I am thrilled to join Hines, a company with a remarkable global track record in investment management and development and a strong entrepreneurial mindset. I look forward to building our business in Spain, where the company has been active for more than 20 years.'

Gelado began her career in investment banking with Morgan Stanley in London and Madrid, before working at firms including Tishman Speyer in London and Drago Capital in Madrid. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School in New York and is a member of the Urban Land Institute and Women in Real Estate Spain.
Established in 1996, Hines Spain currently holds $566 mln (€503 mln) in assets under management. Across Europe, the company controls €16.7 bn AUM in Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the UK.
