Hilton Hotels Corporation (HHC) plans to open 1,000 new hotels in Europe over the next decade. The move is line with its major expansion plan which is expected to add some 2,000 new hotels worldwide, HHC's Tom Keltner told delegates at the International Hotel Investment Forum in Berlin. Hilton will enter four new European markets in 2007, namely Russia, Ukraine, Poland and Portugal.

Keltner also confirmed Hilton Hotel Corporation's plans to roll out three brands into Europe, Hampton Inn, Garden Inn and Doubletree. In late 2006, the company opened four new development offices in Moscow, Vienna, Madrid and Frankfurt and is now planning to accelerate the expansion of its portfolio. Hilton Hotels has currently the strongest development pipeline in the company's history, accounting for some 775 hotels under development.
