Real IS, the property arm of German lender BayernLB, has appointed Juan Jiménez Hevia to head its Spanish office, which opened in autumn 2017.
'With outstanding qualifications and a rich professional background, Juan Jiménez is the ideal person for Real IS,' said Georg Jewgrafow, CEO of Real IS.
'Having worked extensively in Germany, he not only brings German language skills and cultural insights from working with a German investment company, but also boasts a wealth of experience in asset management and investment.'
Hevia has amassed more than 16 years of experience in the financial industry, working most recently as a consultant in the capital markets department at BNP Paribas and for Cushman & Wakefield.
Previously, Hevia was responsible for asset and acquisition management at Banco Santander for nine years. His career began in the finance department at Commerz Real, formerly CGI, where he served as an investment manager for mutual real estate investment funds in Europe, the United States and Canada.
Hevia has been charged with strategically expanding the Real IS portfolio in Spain. In December last year, Real IS acquired Terrassa Plaça, a retail park in the Barcelona area for the Real IS BGV VII Europa real estate special AIF and is currently planning further investments in the Spanish market.
Real IS has offices in six major German cities, alongside offices in Paris, Amsterdam and Luxembourg. Spain is its fifth European market.
