Henderson Global Investors, with EUR 14 bn of direct real estate assets under management globally, said it has promoted Mike Sales to head of property investment as Patrick Bushnell prepares to leave the position at the end of March. Up to now, Sales has held responsibility for all UK and French investment activity.
As head of property investment, Sales will be responsible for all property investment activity, including fund asset management and research across Europe and Asia. He will oversee investment teams based in the UK, France, Germany and Italy as well as take over the position of chairman of the Henderson Property Investment Committee.
Bushnell has decided to step back from day-to-day involvement in Henderson Property after 20 years at the company. Henderson said he would continue to play an active role in the business as a non-executive director of the Henderson Management Companies in Jersey, which control the six Jersey Property Unit Trusts investing in UK property markets. Bushnell will also join the boards of the management companies of Henderson’s range of Luxembourg based European property funds.
