UK developer Helical Bar has launched the second phase of The Bower, a 320,000 sq ft (29,730 m2) mixed-use development located at Old Street in the heart of London’s technology and media district.
The main component of the second phase is The Tower which will comprise 171,000 sq ft of office space across 17 storeys, including two ground-level double-height retail units.
Set for completion in the first quarter of 2018, The Tower is adjacent to the completed first phase of development at The Bower which delivered 140,000 sq ft of office space and is now fully let to a range of tenants, including CBS, Stripe, Farfetch, Allegis, Pivotal and John Brown Media.
The majority of The Bower was wholly acquired by Helical Bar in a £248 mln (€312 mln) transaction which completed in January 2016.
Gerald Kaye at Helical Bar said: 'The Tower will offer the most up-to-the-minute office space in one of the most exciting districts in London, home to world-leading technology and media companies as well as start-ups. The first phase of The Bower already hosts some of the leading names in the industry and we are keen to replicate that success with The Tower.'
