Nordic residential landlord Heimstaden has appointed Anette Konar Riple as head of social sustainability as of 1 June.
Riple joins from the position of programme manager for A Home for a Home, Heimstaden’s global partnership with SOS Children’s Villages, where the firm annually donates €100 for every home it owns.
Heimstaden Bostad has set ambitious social sustainability targets and a key priority the next years is developing and implementing a social sustainability roadmap across the countries in which it operates.
Riple will play a key role in leading the company’s efforts to reach the social sustainability targets, as well as coordinating Heimstaden’s many social sustainability initiatives around Europe.
Said Heimstaden's chief sustainability officer Katarina Skalare: 'Social sustainability is an important and integrated part of our Friendly Homes concept. We have set concrete targets to support our ambition to have the happiest customers and employees in the industry as well as contribute to a diverse and equal society.
'By having Anette as part of the sustainability team, we are well positioned to increase our social effort and impact.'
Riple will continue as programme manager for A Home for a Home. By connecting the programme with the firm's other social sustainability initiatives, the ambition is to create even more societal impact.
In 2022, Heimstaden expects to donate around SEK 125 mln (€13 mln) to SOS Children’s Villages, with an ambition to support more than 55,000 children across the 25 countries in which the programme operates.
'I am excited to take on the new role as head of social sustainability. A Home for a Home proves that we can form strong partnerships and create positive impact well beyond our daily operations. I look forward to using this experience to further strengthen all the good initiatives across Heimstaden’s countries,' said Riple.
