The Luxembourg-registered company has commissioned London architects Benoy and local practice Siebert + Talas to design the facility at Stanica Nivy, which will comprise 70,000 m2 of retail space, a 30,000 m2 office tower and a 30,000 m2 transport hub.

HB Reavis is investing a total of €345 mln in the project, €75 mln of which will be spent on the office building.

The development will also include a 3,000 m2 fresh food market and a rooftop garden. It is expected to attract 50,000 visitors and up to 20,000 bus passengers a day when it opens in 2019.

As part of the plans the nearby Mlynské Nivy shopping street will be renovated. The developer is also planning a cable car across the Danube to relieve traffic during construction, which is due to begin in the summer.

'We are looking forward to starting construction on Stanica Nivy, which will play an important role in transforming this tired looking part of the city,' said Adrian Rac, CEO of HB Reavis Slovakia.

Founded in 1993 in Slovakia, HB Reavis is an international real estate developer operating in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, the UK and Turkey. It has built a total of 993,000 m2 of new developments including offices, shopping centres and logistics facilities, and has total assets of €2.1 bn.
