Planning permission was granted by the North Yorkshire Council's Strategic Planning Committee.

This project, valued at up to £190 mln (€225 mln), will be situated on a 75-hectare brownfield site at the Gascoigne Interchange in Leeds. The development will encompass up to 139,354 m2 of modern industrial units.

Harworth expects to begin construction in 2025 on seven Grade A units ranging in size from 5,295 m2 to 92,903 m2.

Lynda Shillaw, CEO, Harworth Group, said: ‘Our development at Gascoigne Interchange is another example of Harworth’s unique ability to identify, acquire and transform brownfield sites to generate value, create jobs and increase investment in the region. This development complements Harworth’s extensive pipeline of industrial and logistics sites and we continue to see high demand for high-specification strategically-connected Grade A industrial space.’

The brownfield site is situated in Selby, to the east of Leeds, and adjacent to Sherburn Industrial Estate. The site's strategic location with rail access makes it ideal for various uses, including eco-friendly freight transportation.
