Hamburg-based property company Hanseatische Investment (Hansainvest) has bought an office building in the Finnish city of Espoo from elevator maker Kone for EUR 35 mln. In a statement, Kone said it will occupy the building as a tenant under a long-term lease agreement.

Located in the Keilaniemi business district of Espoo, the office was designed by Antti-Matti Siikala and is 72 metres tall. It has become one of the visual landmarks of Espoo. 'We are pleased with the outcome of the sales process and we welcome Hansainvest as our partner and long-term property owner,' said Klaus Cawén, Kone executive vice-president.
Founded in 1969, Hansainvest Hanseatische Investment is part of the Signal Iduna group, one of the largest German insurance and financial service providers. In the real estate sector Hansainvest manages real estate assets of about EUR 2.3 bn, split up into direct investments, three special real estate funds and one open real estate fund Hansaimmobilia.
