GSW Immobilien has announced the resignation of the deputy chairman of its supervisory board, Jochen Scharpe, only two weeks after losing its CEO and its supervisory board chairman.

The Berlin-based residential property firm said that Scharpe is resigning for personal reasons effective 31 December 2013.
He has been a member of the supervisory board since March 2010.

Last month, a dramatic shareholder revolt resulted in the dismissal of GSW's CEO Bernd Kottmann, who stepped down just two months into the job after shareholders passed a no-confidence motion against him on 18 June.

At the company meeting, almost 70% of shareholders also voted to dismiss GSW´s supervisory board chairman Eckart John von Freyend.

Von Freyend had previously worked alongside Kottmann at IVG and shareholders were not convinced by his assurances that the appointment process he led was done in a transparent manner.

Von Freyend will step down at end-July.
