Gresham House, a specialist alternative asset manager, has invested further in its UK housing team with the appointment of Claire Cooper as director of shared ownership operations and Matthew Painter as director of development and delivery.
Cooper joins Gresham House with over 14 years of experience in the affordable homeownership space, primarily in major housing associations, and with specialist expertise in shared ownership developments. She was previously head of homeownership at Peabody, where she managed large, shared ownership and leasehold portfolios, with a focus on new builds. She has also worked across a range of property management roles for other housing associations and private investors, including Optivo, One Housing and Heylo.
Painter brings 11 years of property experience to Gresham House, where he will play a key role in growing the group’s portfolio in both the shared ownership and build-to-rent sectors. Over his career, Painter has overseen £500 mln of residential real estate development projects in the UK and Europe. He was most recently senior development manager at CA Ventures, having previously held development manager roles at Guild Living and Unite Students.
These two appointments come as Gresham House continues to develop its offering to investors in the housing space. With around £800 mln in UK residential housing assets under management, Gresham House offers strategies across the shared ownership, build-to-rent and retirement living sectors.
