Global property group Goodman has secured planning consent to broaden the scope of a future new development at its Birmingham Business Park. The park, which currently comprises 149,000 m2 of prime office space and provides accomodation for a range of companies including Orange, Beiersdorf and Fujitsu, has 14 hectares of land with planning permission to deliver a further 74,000 m2 of workspace.
While Goodman already has planning consent to develop further office accommodation on the site, the company has now received consent from Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to widen the choice of usage on part of the site.
An area of land, Plot 5000, has a new outline planning permission for up to 34,400 m2 of industrial-warehouse development. The consent provides Goodman with the flexibility to attract a broader range of companies, and potentially evolve Birmingham Business Park into a commercial hub offering a diverse variety of workplace accommodation, as experienced at Goodman's business parks in Hatfield and Gloucester.
