European logistics property specialist GLP has acquired a 31,200 m2 warehouse in Dordrecht, the Netherlands, for an undisclosed amount.
The development, A16 Cargo Center, will be delivered at the beginning of April 2022 on a turnkey basis. A long-term lease has been agreed with Picnic, a Dutch-based European online grocery retailer.
A16 Cargo Center is located at DistriPark Dordrecht, a sustainable logistics business park situated close to the seaports of Rotterdam and Moerdijk.
A16 Cargo Center is a high-specification building, with a clear height of 12.2 metres, significant office space and 187 parking spaces. The building is BREEAM Excellent rated including sustainability features such as LED lighting, electric vehicle charging points, heat-saving measures and photovoltaic panels to be installed.
Philippe Hendriks, country director Netherlands & Belgium at GLP, commented: ‘The acquisition of this high-specification, modern and sustainable warehouse facility, located in one of the best-connected areas of The Netherlands, is an extremely valuable opportunity for GLP. Not only does it mark the latest step in our strong expansion in the country but also perfectly fits with GLP’s global Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, considering the profile of the business park, the asset and the tenant.’
