Privately held Canadian commercial real estate services firm Avison Young has announced the departure of principal and president of Europe Gerry Hughes.
An urban planner, Hughes was previously head of UK firm GVA, which was taken over by Avison Young in early 2019. After the takeover, he took the helm of Avison Young’s European business which at the time already counted 15 offices in the UK, Ireland and Poland.
‘The company wishes him well and is grateful to him for his leadership,’ Avison Young said, adding that the expansion of the European business remains central to the company’s business.
Avison Young said that it expects to announce a replacement shortly.
