German pension investor Aik Immobilien-Kapitalanlagegesellschaft has acquired an office building comprising 9,000 m2 in the centre of Brussels for a total of around EUR 22 mln.

Aik acquired the office building on behalf of one of its real estate funds from Aberdeen Immobilien.

The asset, a centrally located office and retail property at Boulevard de l‘Empereur, dates from the 1950s and was extensively refurbished in 1996. It is currently being renovated again, in order to achieve environmental efficiency. The office element is entirely let to Belgian law firm Liederkerke.

'The Brussels real estate market has shown continuous stability for years. For us as a low-risk investor, the purchase of a centrally located office property with a first-rate main tenant represents an acquisition opportunity which we happily accepted,' said Stephan Hinsche, spokesman of the Aik management board.

Aik is an internationally active joint venture company of German occupational pension funds and Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank, Germany’s financial service provider in the healthcare sector.
