German open-ended funds booked an average 4.3% increase in value in 2006, the highest level in four years, the German investment funds BVI said based on its examination of the results of 30 of the largest open-ended funds last year. Over a period of 10 years, the average value increase comes to 3.9% per year.

The best performing funds in 2006 were DB Real Estate's Grundbesitz-global (7.9%) and SEB Immoinvest's SEB ImmoPortfolio Target Return Fund (7.3%).
