Maintor, comprising a 108,000 m2 scheme of five buildings in a new riverside financial district in the city centre, won the award for Best German Project, while the refubishment of Alte Post in Hamburg by developer Quantum picked up the Special Jury Award. The award for Best German Project ties in with Germany's status this year as Country of Honour. The other two candidates for this award were Alte Post and the Herz-Jesu redevelopment by Schleiff Denkmalentwicklung in Mönchengladbach-Pesch.
The Mipim Awards were conferred in a total of 11 categories. The Main Point Karlin scheme in Prague developed by PSJ Invest picked up the award for best office and business development, while the New Comunity Center and Library in Copenhagen (Copenhagen City Properties) took the prize for for Best Refurbished Building.
The People's Choice Award, a new category this year incorporating online voting by the public, went to D-Cube City in Seoul, South Korea.
