Italian insurer Generali is bringing the entire group's property activities together into a single Italian company.

Italian insurer Generali is bringing the entire group's property activities together into a single Italian company.

The new firm, called Generali Real Estate, will begin operation in July 2012 and will manage a portfolio of EUR 28 bn with offices in 11 countries. The move is desiged to help grow the fund management business for third parties. The aim is to reach EUR 36 bn of assets under management by 2016.

Raffaele Agrusti has been appointed as chairman and CFO, while Giancarlo Scotti will be the CEO.
