The transaction follows two other major investments by Gecimed this year and brings the total volume of investment to nearly EUR 132 mln since January 2007. The acquisitions reflect an average net yield of 6.7%. Gecimed's healthcare portfolio is made up of 32 real estate assets. Its pipeline of development projects comprises two facilities for senior citizens and one private hospital.

The latest investment was made with the support of Gecimed's former parent company Gecina. Listed healthcare real estate investor Gecimed traded under the Sofco name until March this year. The French Gecina group - which recently split up from Spain's Metrovaseca - has a 38% stake in Gecimed.

Gecina has ploughed more than EUR 1 bn into logistics and healthcare property over the last year as part of its strategic diversification.
