GE Capital Real Estate has appointed Lennart Sten to lead its European real estate business. Sten, a Swedish national, was formerly the head of GE Capital's Nordic activities, having joined the company in 1998.
He will assume the new position with immediate effect, reporting directly to GE Capital Real Estate's CEO Mark Begor, who is based in Paris.
Sten will have responsibility for a portfolio of over 2,000 assets with over 7,500 tenants and worth around EUR 10 bn.
'Lennart has built strong business teams and brings significant market knowledge to this role - at a time when our business is moving forward in Europe as a leading property company,' Begor said.
'Our investment management business will be a particular focus for Lennart. Using our expertise to help outside investors profit is especially important to us. His experience creating the successful Swedish Roxanne investment fund, for example, will be of great value as we continue to advance.'
Sten has headed GE's Nordic operations since 2005. Before joining GE, Sten was president of Fabege.
