This £18.7 mln (€22.2 mln) deal marks the second collaboration between the joint venture and Persimmon, following the purchase of 174 homes across three residential schemes in the West Midland in December 2023.

Persimmon will deliver 42 homes at the Bardolph View development in Gedling, plus the remaining 40 on the Hawkers Place site in Hucknall over the next 18 months.

Sustainability is a priority for Gatehouse IM, as all the homes will achieve an EPC rating of 'B' or higher.

John Coles, director of Acquisitions at Gatehouse IM, said: ‘Both Bardolph View and Hawkers Place are established master planned schemes with a strong base of amenities, excellent transport links and good local schooling provision perfect for our target rental market. Through our previous deal with Persimmon Homes, we have seen the high-quality product they deliver, and hope to work with them again on further acquisitions.’

Anssi Halonen, managing director and head of Acquisitions on the Carlyle Europe Realty advisory team, added: ‘This acquisition is a testament to our ability, alongside our partners Gatehouse, to identify high-quality, well-situated assets, complemented by excellent transport links and local amenities.’

Gareth Hankin, managing director for Persimmon Nottingham, said: ‘We’re delighted to have worked with Gatehouse IM to deliver much-needed new housing in Nottinghamshire. With housing rightly high up the political agenda, we’re working with partners to provide the high-quality, sustainable new homes the country urgently needs.’

This acquisition brings the joint venture's nationwide portfolio to over 820 homes, either purchased or under agreement. Ascend, the UK's largest manager of single-family rental properties, will handle the management of these homes, adding to their existing portfolio of 7,500 properties.
