Garbe Industrial Real Estate has acquired its second logistics development at the Green Square Business Campus in Aalsmeer, a new high-end mixed use development located close to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport.
The 16,500 m2 property was purchased on behalf of one of Garbe’s investment funds from Green Square Logistics IV via an off-market, forward-funding transaction.
Maurits Smit, managing director Garbe Industrial Real Estate Netherlands, said:
‘This is our second investment at the Green Square Business Campus which is emerging on one of the few greenfields near Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport at an exceptionally well-connected logistics location. The business park caters to companies active at the high end of the ornamental floriculture sector as well as manufacturing companies and traditional logistics, and we are confident we will find tenants for this speculative development given the shortage of modern, sustainable warehouses in this market.’
Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport is one of the leading logistics locations in the Netherlands where land is very scarce. The latest acquisition is being constructed on a 19,817 m2 site and will comprise a 11,711 m2 warehouse, 3,483 m2 of mezzanine space and a 1,315 m2 office. It is scheduled for delivery Q2 2023. Garbe’s first logistics development at the campus is scheduled for completion in October 2022.
The ambition of Green Square Business Campus in Aalsmeer is to develop the 17 hectares area to a high-quality centre area. Developer Dutch City Development collaborates with Green Park Aalsmeer Area Development to grow the area to a mixed use park with offices, a hotel, leisure facilities and logistics.
