Developers ECE and CA Immo have opened their €360 mln Skyline Plaza shopping centre in the European Quarter of Frankfurt.
The shopping mall provides 170 specialty shops, service and food outlets on a sales area of 38,000 m2 over two levels.
The scheme includes a roof terrace - the Skyline Garden - as well as a 9,200 m2 fitness area, Meridian Span, which is scheduled to open in February 2014.
The complex offers 2,400 parking spaces and is connected to the city centre through a new subway line which will stop at a newly-built station directly at the centre. It also boasts a 'Gold' pre-certificate of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
ECE designed the scheme and developed it jointly with CA Immo. In 2011 the developers sold over 80% of the project to German insurance group Allianz and retained a 10% stake each in the mall.
In the immediate vicinity of the mall, joint venture partners ECE and CA Immo are currently working on the Kap Europa congress centre for Messe Frankfurt. Due to open next year, it will have an overall capacity of 2,400 persons over four levels.
