The shopping centre will offer 41,000 m3 of gross lettable area and 150 retail units distributed over three floors in the new residential district of Someso in the city of La Coruna. It will provide 700 new jobs and accommodate some of the biggest names in fashion, leisure, household goods and catering, Multi Development said. The centre will also have a state-of-the-art cinema complex and a 2,000 m2 bowling alley.
The Spanish arm of Netherlands-based Multi Development has three shopping centres in operation, Espacio Leon (2204), Espai Grone (2005) and Espacio Torrelodones in Madrid (2006). Other Multi shopping centres under development in Spain are Espacio Mediterraneo in Cartagena, Espacio Buenavista in Oviedo, Asturias and Espacio La Coruna.
Meanwhile, Spain's Metrovacesa said it will invest EUR 61 mln to build and manage a shopping centre in Reus, in the north east Spain. The centre will comprise30,800 m2 of letting space and will be ready by 2008.
