Forum Coimbra, the shopping mall developed by Multi Development Portugal and Promotora Imobiliaria in Coimbra, Portugal has won the Mapic shopping centre award for 2007. The category for shopping centres was introduced for the first time this year.

The jury also selected six retailers from a list of 43 nominees as the most dynamic international retailers in 2007. Italian footwear group Geox emerged as the winner of the clothing and fashion accessories category while fellow Italian company Illycaffè won the MAPIC award in the catering outlets category. Germany's Media Saturn was the winner of the household and electrical goods category while UK telecommunications retailer The Phone House was selected for the services category. France’s Yves Rocher won the award for the health and beauty category while Build-A-Bear Workshop of the US was the winner of the leisure category.

The MAPIC Awards jury was presided over by Sharon Fernandez Cavada King, director of the retail department of DTZ Asesores Immobiliarios Internacionales in Spain.
