Nick van Ommen has been named a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) by RICS Germany for his role in helping to professionalise the European real estate industry.
Nick van Ommen has been named a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS) by RICS Germany for his role in helping to professionalise the European real estate industry.
The 67-year-old Dutchman previously held senior management positions at Amro Bank, Euro Ventures Benelux and Flemings Netherlands as well as heading the European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA) between 2000 and 2008.
Christoph Schmidt, country manager at RICS Deutschland, commented: ’Nick van Ommen is one of the first property managers to have worked towards professionalising supervisory board mandates in Germany in our sector.’
Michael Englisch, a member of the board of RICS Deutschland and responsible for translating the Eminent Professional Route to RICS Fellowship in Germany, added: 'We are delighted to have gained Nick van Ommen, an expert on bourse-listed real estate companies, as a RICS member. This underlines the attractiveness of our organisation across the sector.’
Commenting on his appointment, Van Ommen said: 'I am delighted about my membership of the world’s biggest property organisation and see my appointment as an endorsement of, and motivation for, my task in further promoting the role of supervisory boards in our sector.’
