Fom Group has beeen active in the Netherlands since 2018 as a property developer and asset manager, with mandates that include the Maas Tower, the tallest office building in the country.

The wholly owned subsidiary, FOM Real Estate Holland, will focus on a range of business areas, including rebnewable energies, as well as diverse asset classes, such as offices and logistics.

The managing directors heading the new company are Matthijs Hoekstra, who is in charge of the local asset management of the Maas Tower, and Andreas Stegmann, head of institutional clients & products at Fom.

Reinhard Walter, Fom Group's managing partner, commented: 'The Netherlands offers plenty of potential in our core business, meaning products involving a value-add approach.

'While the sustainability requirements for office and logistics properties are enormous, we have found a compelling way to meet them through one-off property strategies and pin-point market positioning.

'Analagous to our approach in Germany, we are planning to launch our own fund products in the medium term while also undertaking single investments on behalf of institutional clients.'

Stegmann added: 'It was a plausible next step for us to further expand our activities in the Benelux region – with a clear focus on the Netherlands – and to set up a local presence toward this end.

'By successfully optimising and refinancing the Maas Tower, one of the best known properties in Holland, FOM already demonstrated its competence.

'Backed by the team’s extensive transaction experience in this market, we consider ourselves well positioned to offer our clients attractive investment products here, in addition to our home market Germany.'
