ULI Europe has announced the winners of the 2024 ULI Europe Awards for Excellence, which recognise excellence in land use practice across the entire development process.

EcoDataCenter 1, Falun, Sweden (Developer: Eco data center; Owner: Areim; Architect: Nordisk Kombination Arkitekter) is a new sustainable Swedish data center powered entirely by renewable energy. The project has set a new standard for sustainable design and operation, by using green energy and timber to significantly reduce embedded carbon.

Grainhouse, London, UK (Developer: Hines UK, Owner: Hines European Value Fund 2; Architect: Barr Gazetas) is a historic Victorian warehouse in Covent Garden that has been transformed into a modern office space. The adaptive reuse project reinvigorated the London landmark and promoted sustainable urban development.

L’Atelier (“The Workshop”), Paris, France (Developer: Covivio; Architect: Studios Architecture, Maison Sarah Lavoine & DUX Covivio) consists of a sustainable and tenant-driven redevelopment of a historic Parisian building into a new office space. The complex incorporates office, hotel, and residential codes.

Minerve, Edegem, Belgium (Developer: Revive; Architect: Multiple, including master planner Architecten Achtergael) is a brownfield development that has been transformed into sustainable and affordable housing with green features. The project addressed sustainability, energy and water use, and biodiversity creation.

Polish History Museum, Warsaw, Poland (Developer: Polish History Museum, Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage; Architect: WXCA) is a new multifunctional public museum designed to foster social dialogue and community engagement by celebrating Polish history and culture.

The five winning projects were announced during the C Change Summit in Barcelona and they will be automatically entered into the 2024 ULI Global Awards for Excellence, the winners of which will be announced soon.
