Barry Lyons and Graham Kerry, partners in Dublin law firm Lyon Kerry, have snapped up 3,500 properties in Dublin in a deal said by market experts to be the largest single transfer of property in the Irish capital in the last 25 years. The portfolio, valued at some EUR 400 mln, includes commercial and residential properties as well as greenfield sites spread across the city.

The two solicitors have purchased the assets for an undisclosed amount from businessman Peter White, through their investment vehicle Fitzwilliam Securities. The deal, backed by Ulster Bank, is the first major foray into the property market for Lyons and Kerry, the Sunday Business Post reported. The two partners are already planning to sell some assets, while developing others to enhance the value. Lyons told the newspaper that the purchase includes greenfield sites within the city with 'enormous development potential', including sites on O'Connell Street and St Stephen's Green.
