Logistics developer Galezey said on Friday that the acquisition by Dubai World's Economic Zones World (EZW) has received European regulatory approval. EZW first announced in June that it had bought the Wal-Mart-owned global provider of sustainable logistics space, as part of its strategy to expand into global markets.
' We are getting on with the business of bringing our two organisations together and unlocking the value which the combined strength of our operations will provide. We are looking forward to building on the excellent work, capability and experience of the combined EZW/Gazeley team and to offering our customers an even broader and higher quality of service,' said Salma Hareb, chief executive officer of Jafza and Economic Zones World.
EZW and Gazeley senior management teams are currently working on an integration strategy to determine the best approach for combining the two businesses and maximising commercial and customer benefits, the company said. To date, Gazeley has developed more than 5.6 million m2 of high-quality logistics warehouse space.
