The growing population of the world's cities and the demands it places on infrastructure and competition for talent are among the biggest challenges facing the real estate industry in the next 15 years, RICS president Amanda Clack has told PropertyEU.
RICS recently produced a four-minute video concentrating on the three main themes of the changing world, which Clack uses to explain the institution's priorities to clients, members students.
Speaking at Expo Real, she said: 'It looks at the €57 trillion infrastructure gap, the fact that we're going to have more people living in our cities and in closer densities.
'We have to think about actually placemaking around cities and putting people into our cities. But the number one thing that employers were telling us that they were worried about was the war for talent and how do we attract that young talent into our professions.'
