Sustainability is set to be one of the main themes of the 2008 edition of Expo Italia Real Estate (EIRE), slated for 10-13 June at Milan's trade fair on the outskirts of the city. To that end, organisers say a special forum will be held to discuss the theme of sustainable buildings on 11 June, with the idea being that the development of a culture of sustainability will increase the quality of investments. Special attention will also be reserved for the Lombardy region's legislation on energy certification.

As it seeks to highlight the theme of sustainability, EIRE says that a special exhibition area will also be dedicated to companies operating in the sector of low-impact, environmental buildings. The 2008 edition of EIRE will be its fourth. Some 16,000 visitors attended the event this year.
