Evans Randall, the privately held UK investment banking and private equity group, has completed a major lease renewal and new letting totalling 50,682 m2 at its Haagse Poort office development in The Hague.

Nationale-Nederlanden, one of the Netherlands’ largest insurance companies, has regeared its lease and will take 30,082 m2 in the low- and high-rise portions of the building.

Nationale-Nederlanden, a subsidiary of ING, is an existing occupier at the building, and will take the newly refurbished and reconfigured space from January 2015.

CB&I, a global energy infrastructure group, has agreed to take 20,600 m2 in the high-rise portion of the building from January 2014. The deal is the largest in the Dutch market since the beginning of 2013.
The deals form part of an active asset management strategy which is repositioning the building as a premium quality multi-let occupier destination. The remaining 17,500 m2 in the building is currently being prepared for launch to the market.

'These substantial lettings are part of our strategy to transform Haagse Poort from a single tenant to a multi-occupancy building,' said Kent Gardner, CEO of Evans Randall. 'In doing so we have increased the occupier appeal of this premium space in one of The Hague’s premium CBD locations.'

Evans Randall acquired the 60,277 m2 building in 2006, in what was the largest transaction involving a single property on the Dutch market that year. Originally opened in 1995, the asymmetrical structure features a 17 storey tower as well as a large arch which spans the city’s main road artery, the Utrechtsebaan.

CBRE and Loyens & Loeff advised Evans Randall on the respective lettings.
