Europa Passage, one of the largest inner-city shopping malls in Germany, has opened its doors in Hamburg. Featuring 120 shops on five levels, the €430 mln Europa Passage has 30,000 m2 of retail space and overlooks the Binnenalster (Inner Alster) artificial lake in downtown Hamburg.

Seventy percent of the shops have been developed according to concepts which are new to Hamburg, said Dirk Grosse-Wordemann, chairman of the Board of Management of Allianz Immobilien and Allianz Centermanagement.

Over 4,000 m2 is reserved for retail, offering food, drink and cultural events. The development includes another 30,000 m2 of office space and 700 underground parking places. In total, the mall will create 1,200 new jobs.

Europa Passage is a joint project by Allianz Lebensversicherungs-AG and the HSH Nordbank AG, represented by Allianz Immobilien GmgH. Allianz CenterManagement is responsible for the running and management of the mall.
