Real estate fund manager Europa Capital completed transactions with a total volume close to €1.5 bn in 2014, including €1.2 bn of disposals.

The majority of the disposal activity was by Europa Capital’s Europa Fund III and included its share of one of the largest disposals in Europe, the sale of a BBVA bank property portfolio in Spain.

Europa Capital’s Europa Fund IV, which closed to investors in 2014 after having secured commitments in excess of €600 mln, completed €300 mln of acquisitions.

Key transactions for Europa Capital in 2014 include the joint venture disposal of the 58,000 m2 Poznan City Centre shopping centre in the Polish city of Poznan to Resolution Property and ECE, and the disposal of a BBVA sale-and-leaseback portfolio to Spanish REIT, Merlin Properties, for €740 mln.

Jason Oram, partner at Europa Capital said, '2014 has seen Europa increase further its transactional activity, which also reflects the continued and improving investor appetite for European real estate. In 2015, we will continue to source interesting investment opportunities, where Europa’s real estate experience will enable it to create value in an increasingly competitive environment.'

Since 1995, Europa Capital’s principals have collectively raised seven real estate funds and committed to over 80 transactions totaling some €8 bn across 18 European countries.

PropertyEU's Top Investors, which ranks Europe's leading real estate dealmakers by 2014 acquisition and disposal volumes, is published in March 2015.
