According to Spanish press reports, the site is due to house a new 175,000 m2 logistics centre to be fully occupied by Amazon. The site is being sold by Centrals i Infraestructures per a la Mobilitat i les Activitats Logístiques (Cimalsa), a public company belonging to the Catalan government.

Eurofund and LCP first joined forces in 2017 to develop logistics facilities in Spain and Portugal. The two partners have also bought 130,000 m2 of space in Torija (Guadalajara) near Madrid in 2018.

LCP, a London-based pan-European logistics development and asset management platform, has already worked with Amazon in the past, having developed at least two properties for the US e-commerce giant in Vercelli and Torrazza, Italy.

Eurofund is a well-known retail developer and investor with €3.5 bn of assets. A long time partner of collapsed UK retail specialist Intu, Intu has recently taken full control of the Porto Cabral de Vigo project which it previously owned jointly with Intu.

The shopping centre project envisages the development of 580,000 m2 of space for a total investment of €1 bn. The project is still in the planning phase.
