Spanish holding company Emesa and developer Sacresa will invest €270 mln in a mixed-use project in Esplugues de Llobregat, a municipality next to Barcelona.
Considered as one of Barcelona’s major real estate projects, Porta Diagonal will consist of 90,000 m2 of offices, hotels and facilities.
The project will spread across six buildings, with two twin towers of 23 storeys, each with 20,000 m2 of area.
One of them will be developed by Emesa and will be an office building, and the other will be developed by Sacresa and will be a hotel with up to 500 rooms.
Construction of the other four buildings will begin at a later date and the entire complex should be completed by 2026.
Sacresa will develop two buildings: one of 20,950 m2 and another of 6,516 m2, which will be ceded to Esplugues City Council.
For its part, Emesa will build a 16,150 m2 building to be used as a student residence or aparthotel, and a second building for facilities with a surface area of 4,485 m2.
