Spain's largest electrical utility company, Edesa, is to sponsor the sustainable development awards at the Barcelona Meeting Point international real estate symposium. The awards aim to spread and foster sustainable real estate development, as well as to recognize those developers that are already working in this direction. The jury will consist of leading real estate players in the sustainable arena and will be chaired by BMP chairman Enrique Lacalle.

The BMP Symposium is intended for real estate professionals and will host more than 30 sessions and some 100 speakers from 16 countries. Topics cover sustainability, marketing techniques, emerging markets and finance. The awards ceremony is planned during a dinner on the second day of the symposium; a seminar on Real Estate and Sustainability will be held on the same day. Barcelona Meeting Point takes place from 6 to 11 November.
