ECE Türkiye, the Turkish arm of German retail specialist ECE Projektmanagement, and retail group CarrefourSA have announced plans to nearly double the size of their CarrefourSA Maltepe Park in Istanbul. The planned investment cost was not disclosed.

Located at the fast-growing Asian side of the Turkish metropolis, CarrefourSA Maltepe Park will be extended by 44,000 m2 bringing the total amount of leasable area in the centre to 75,000 m2.
The new mall will host 250 shops, an enlarged food court with seating capacity for around 2,000 people, 36 restaurants and cafés, a bigger CarrefourSA hypermarket, eight cinema halls and parking space for 3,500 cars. In addition, the extended mall will also provide 15,000 m2 of office space. The centre, with a catchment area of four million inhabitants, is scheduled to open in 2013.
ECE Türkiye is responsible for leasing and managing CarrefourSA Maltepe Park SC since its opening in 2005 and will also execute the leasing process for the extension.
ECE Türkiye, founded in 2000, manages a total of 10 malls in the Turkish cities of Ankara, Istanbul, Eskiºehir, Izmir, and Antalya. The group is also developing the 100,000-m2 Marmara Park shopping centre scheduled for opening in 2012.
