Hamburg-based property developer ECE has joined forces with hotel operator Steigenberger Hotels AG to construct a four-star Superior Hotel at the future Capital Airport Berlin Brandenburg International BBI.
Hamburg-based property developer ECE has joined forces with hotel operator Steigenberger Hotels AG to construct a four-star Superior Hotel at the future Capital Airport Berlin Brandenburg International BBI.
The hotel is due to be opened when business at BBI begins in 2012. ECE and Berlin Airports have concluded a 60-year building right contract for the site, and a operations contract with Steigenberger Hotels which will run for a period of 25 years.
The four-star Superior Hotel, will comprise 322 rooms, of which 27 are suites. There will also be a 1,500-m2 conference area with furnished and equipped conference and event rooms, international cuisine and a wellness area.
The building was designed by Eike Becker_Architekten of Berlin and the interior architecture was styled by Markus-Diedenhofen from Reutlingen.
Alexander Otto, CEO of ECE said: 'We are proud to be able to embark on a new area of business with this first-class hotel at the Capital Airport BBI. Other ECE hotel projects are under way in Dresden and Vienna; a project is also being planned for Munich.'
