ECE Projektmanagement has taken over Marstall-Center in central Germany in order to redesign and breathe new life into the 1970s-era shopping centre.
Hamburg-based ECE acquired the centre in the city of Ludwigsburg, 12 km from Stuttgart, from the local municipality.
The acquisition volume was not disclosed but ECE said the redesign would cost about €90 mln.
ECE will begin refurbishment works on Marstall-Center, which was opened in 1975, in spring 2014. The opening is scheduled for fall 2015, with ECE responsible for long-term management and leasing of the centre.
The completely redesigned shopping centre will provide a sales area of 23,000 m2 with around 60 shops as well as a food court with various cafés and restaurants on two-and-a-half levels.
ECE develops, plans, builds, leases out and manages large properties in the shopping, office and industrial sectors and is active in 17 European countries.
