German inner-city shopping centre specialist ECE opens its EUR 200 mln Rathaus-Galerie in Leverkusen, Germany on Wednesday. ECE said the project's 'architectural flagship', a glass rotunda, is visible from a long distance from the shopping scheme.
The project was in construction for two years. The new inner-city shopping gallery comprises around 120 stores, cafés, restaurants and service providers. Distributed on three levels, the centre has a total sales area of approximately 22,600 m2. All shop areas have been leased out completely for months. The two-storey rotunda above the centre provides 5,000 m2 for the city’s administration.
The EUR 200 mln project was realised by investor Credit Suisse Asset Management Immobilien and ECE, which will manage the centre.
ECE anticipates the centre will attract about 30,000 visits daily.
