Pan-European retail specialist ECE has opened the Adigeo shopping centre in the northern Italian city of Verona.
ECE's latest shopping centre in Italy offers 130 shops with a mix of international and Italian concepts, and a large number of dining options, over 47,000 m2.
Following a construction period of 18 months, Adigeo's opening on 30 March came earlier than originally planned. Adigeo is 100% occupied, with all rental areas leased long before opening. ECE added further space during the planning and construction phase in response to the high retailer demand. The extension will open once the interior fittings have been finished.
Irish fashion retailer Primark will become an anchor tenant and open its first shop in the region of Verona, which will comprise 6,200 m2.
The centre is a partnership of ECE, the real estate developer CDS Holding, and CDS Costruzioni as general contractor. The mall is part of an extensive city quarter enhancement in the south of Verona. ECE invested €170 mln in the project. ECE Italia is responsible for leasing and managing the centre on a long-term basis.
ECE operates two other shopping centres in Italy: Megalò in Chieti and La Cartiera in Pompei.
