ECE Projektmanagement is to build a shopping gallery with more than 60,000 m[sup]2[/sup] of leasable area in the Russian city of Yaroslavl, 250 kilometres north-east of Moscow. The project was announced on Friday at a joint press conference with Yaroslavl's mayor, Viktor Volonchunas, a day before celebration of the city foundation date. ECE will invest EUR 150 mln in the project and create more than 2,000 new jobs. The shopping center is scheduled to open in the spring of 2010 - in time for Yaroslavl's 1,000th anniversary.

The shopping gallery will house around 200 retail outlets, a state-of-the-art multiplex cinema and a food court. 'The shopping centre's main focus will be on fashion retail outlets for the whole family,' said Stefan Zeiselmaier, ceo of ECE Russia. The center will also provide around 1,100 parking spaces. The city has a population of 1.3 million people.
ECE is a German inner-city shopping centre specialist that has 90 shopping centers, with a combined floor space of 2.7 million m2, under management in Germany, Turkey, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria, Greece and Qatar. Another 22 shopping centers are currently under construction, or in the planning stages.
