The 50% joint venture partners will implement the project based on the approved development plan, which includes 130 stores and an investment of around EUR 290 mln.
In a video message broadcast at the show Aachen Mayor Marcel Philipp said: 'The city of Aachen is very pleased that now the construction of the Imperial Space Gallery is imminent. We have now reached the point where we have found a common path. This will add quality to our city.'
ECE's Dunstheimer said ECE has long wanted to be active in Aachen. 'We are very pleased to begin this great project in such an excellent location along with our partner Strabag Real Estate.'
Archaeological excavations will take place in the summer of 2013 in the grounds of the Imperial Court Gallery. The opening of the centre is scheduled for late 2015/early2016.
