German privately held developer, landlord and property manager ECE has expanded its activities in the development of logistics properties to the international market for the first time.
The firm has announced the development of a logistics project in Poland, which is being built in Katy Wroclawskie, around 25 kilometers from Wroclaw and located directly on the A4 freeway in the direction of Dresden.
It will offer a logistics area of around 80,000 m2 and will be tailor-made to meet the requirements of future users. Construction is scheduled to start in November 2022 and to be completed in fall 2023.
Jan Röttgers, director logistics & international at ECE Work & Live said: 'With our market entry in Poland, we are now extending our many years of expertise and our range of services in the planning, development and realization of tailor-made logistics properties to the international market, which offers numerous interesting opportunities for us.
'Both users and investors will benefit from our decades of experience in the realization of logistics real estate from a single source as well as from our financial strength as a family-owned company.'
Leszek Sikora, regional head and managing director of ECE Poland: 'Our entire team is highly motivated and pleased to add another chapter to the success story of ECE Polska with this project and to expand our range of services by a new asset class.'
ECE already has a well-established retail real estate business in Poland, which has been managed by its local branch for many years.
Like all logistics properties developed by ECE, the logistics center in Katy Wroclawskie is being planned and realised along numerous sustainable aspects.
These include, among others, energy-efficient planning and implementation of the property, the installation of e-charging and car-sharing stations, bicycle parking spaces as well as the creation of insect-friendly green areas and a sustainable irrigation system. The scheme is seeking BREEAM certification in the Excellent category.
