Hamburg-based ECE will develop a new logistics centre for the Hermes Group in the Bavarian city of Ansbach.
The planned complex will be built on a site of approximately 186,000 m² and comprises two facilities of roughly 76,000 m². The development involves a total investment of €90 mln.
ECE has built nine logistics centres across Germany for Hermes in the last four years. The construction start for the Ansbach complex is scheduled for October 2018, while the building complex will be operational at the beginning of 2020.
The Ansbach project is targeting gold certification by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
Hermes provides international logistics services to the retail industry, and partners numerous distance sellers in Germany and abroad. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Otto Group.
Founded by the Otto family in the 1960s, ECE develops and operates shopping centres as well as large-scale real estate projects. The company has around €34.4 bn of assets under management and manages approximately 200 shopping centres in 12 different countries.
