German property developer ECE said on Tuesday that it has started the construction of a 200-room hotel in the Le Quartier Central district of Düsseldorf.
The new 25hours hotel will be built at Louis-Pasteur-Platz and will consist of an 18-storey tower to be operated on a long-term basis by the 25hours Hotel Company - the group's first hotel in the German state of North-Rhine Westphalia.
The opening of the property has been scheduled for spring 2018.
The hotel is owned by Patrizia Immobilien who acquired it for a real estate fund at the beginning of 2016. ECE had acquired the land from Aurelis in September 2015.
Andreas Mattner, managing director of ECE said: 'Realizing a hotel like this will further emphasize our position as hotel developer on the market. We are especially pleased that we won the 25hours Hotel as an extraordinary hotel concept for Düsseldorf.'
